Before the SteamGridDB plugin became my main way to change artwork for my installed games, I relied on SGDBoop. This program is small, but it adds a button whenever you go to SteamGridDB's website to automatically add artwork to your games. It does require desktop mode, but it's quite straightforward since you can install the program through the Discover Store. If you don't want to use Decky Loader and plugins, this is the best way to change your Steam artwork, and a new update adds a new feature and more.

SteamGridDB's SGDBoop

The new 1.3.0 update released yesterday, and while there aren't huge, overwhelming changes, it is the first update in 1 year, and there are definitely improvements. There are now tabs to separate Non-Steam shortcuts and Source mods when adding new artwork, memory leaks have been fixed, icons will now properly apply to Steam games, the Flatpak installation check should work again, the code has been cleaned up, and legacy symlinking of horizontal capsules has been removed.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their GitHub page.

SGDBoop can be downloaded from the Discover Store now. To use it, go to SteamGridDB's SGDBoop page and follow the instructions. You never have to launch SGDBoop directly, just use the button on the web page!
