Those of you living in the US, Canada, and Asia regions may have noticed that the Steam Deck has been out of stock in your region for the past couple of days, with no explanation from Valve. Checking the UK and European store pages shows that those regions do still have a supply of the device, at least for now.

While some optimistic commenters are hoping that this means the Steam Deck is being discontinued in favor of a newer, more powerful device, realistically, it's more likely that the Steam Deck is the next victim in the ongoing PC component shortage that is also affecting the Steam Machine's launch.

As of right now, on the Komodo website, where those in the Asia regions can purchase the Steam Deck, does say its out of stock, but should come back in stock later this month:

If that's the case, it's possible that we could see the Steam Deck go in and out of stock over the coming months as Valve struggles to secure components to manufacture more devices. Hopefully, stock issues are the only thing we'll have to contend with, and rising prices aren't on the agenda, either.

We have emailed Valve to see if they have any statement as to why the Steam Deck is out of stock and when it will come back.
