While Helldivers 2 may be the go-to for third-person bug squashing, Starship Troopers: Extermination is where to go for first-person bug killing. It's a wonderful co-op shooter based on the cult classic movie, and it is a ton of fun to run around with friends, demolishing waves of bugs coming towards us. It's awesome, and with the newest update, it should be getting a bit better to play on the go.

Starship Troopers: Extermination

The new 1.5 update brings a lot of changes, but there are some specific ones that should help those playing on the Steam Deck. There were some fixes for the virtual keyboard, as well as increased font sizes to make it more readable on the smaller screen. We also have updates for FSR upscaling to 3.1.3a, so we may see some slight improvements to visual quality and performance.

However, the highlight of the update is the expansion of Hive Hunt. Instead of four players, we can now have 16 in one game, increasing the chaos by over 4x. We also have a new weapon, the Morita II, a new supporter pack with unique skins, Horde Mode is now timer based and not dependent on how many enemies were killed, Quick Player matches can now be filtered by mission type and difficulty, and there are a bunch of balancing and bug fixes across the board.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Starship Troopers: Extermination is on sale for $19.49 for the Steam Summer Sale and is rated Unsupported, though it can be played on the Deck.
