There are so many roguelike games nowadays, with some taking genres I wouldn't expect to see getting a spin with the staple roguelike mechanics. Rogue Hex is another one of these games. It takes the 4X strategy games, like Civilization, and adds in some roguelike deckbuilding mechanics to explore and conquer the lands. It's an interesting concept, and the new update makes it easier to play on the Steam Deck.

While we do have new content with this update, we also have improved legibility on the Steam Deck. This means the text and UI elements should be easier to read on the smaller screen, which is great since games like this are very text and UI heavy.

Other than this, we have new gifts, traits, charms, cards, hex level, and a new achievement. We also have new leader art, increased default storage for all currencies, reduced encampment diamond rewards, rebalanced gift rartities, optimized city views, and some bug fixes like peasants no longer being able to channel multiple actions at once and attack card damage previews no longer ignoring armor bonuses.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Rogue Hex is currently $19.99 on Steam. And for full transparency, the solo developer of this game has noted that they use AI for some aspects of the game, specifically noting upgrade and achievement icons.
