Rivals of Aether is one of my favorite 2D fighters, and Rivals of Aether 2 takes it up another notch. It brings the game into the 3D realm, while still keeping the tight combat that defined the previous entry. It's a lot of fun, and it just got a whole lot better to play on the Steam Deck with the latest hotfix that just released.

Rivals of Aether 2

The new update focuses on controller improvements throughout the game. Specifically, the changelog mentions a fix for Steam Input where the game wouldn't accept any trigger input, and this was an issue that affected the Deck directly. Now, trigger inputs should register perfectly fine, making it much more playable overall.

On top of that, there are a bunch of other fixes, including Steam Input causing controllers not to show up as their correct type, Switch controllers will now appear as GCC, all the glyphs will show up in the button rebinding tab correctly again, and non-recognized controllers will show up with Xbox glyphs by default and use the "other" controller option in the settings.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.
