Aniplex announced a new joint project with Akatsuki Games Inc., HYKE:Northern Light(s), which will launch for $27.99 on Steam and Nintendo Switch. HYKE:Northern Light(s) is set to release on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 6 pm PDT / September 19, 2025, 10 am JST.

HYKE:Northern Light(s) is developed by Blast Edge Games and produced by Akatsuki Games in a partnership with Aniplex. Aniplex also shared that they will soon be releasing updates on their social media and a new character introduction trailer for the protagonist Hyke.

The game features a devastated world in a war between humans and witches. Hyke is a white haired girl who is following in her mother’s footsteps, a witch, and explores the lands called “Forbidden Areas.” Hyke's destiny is set in motion when she encounters the witches known as “Meteos,” who guard the Forbidden Areas.

HYKE:Northern Light(s) features a pixel art world in vibrant 2D-pixel graphics. You will encounter charming witches through this adventure. The game features different playable characters with unique features to conquer different stages. There is also a camping feature where you can set up your personalized camp, take a rest, and sort out your gear. Moreover, you will be able to cook meals at camps to help at different stages.

HYKE:Northern Light(s) is available to wishlist on Steam and will release on September 18, 2025, at 6 pm PDT.
