Recently, we have been seeing more and more people bring up an issue with Tekken 8's online multiplayer, which will continually disconnect them from matches. While it didn't happen every time, it did happen enough times to discourage me from trying to fight others online again. Thankfully, it seems Valve is right here to save the day and has released a fix for this issue!

Announced on X by Pierre Loup-Griffais, a Proton Hotfix was deployed that should fix this issue entirely. Because this is a hotfix, it should not only be automatically downloaded but also selected by default. Just in case, you should check the downloads section of your Steam deck to make sure it isn't stuck there since I did actually see mine there when I looked.

When I reviewed the game, the only version that was working was Proton GE 8-27, so it is nice to see Valve getting a version out to fix this. If you are using Proton GE, all you have to do is uncheck the forced compatibility box, and you should be all set! This is a great fix, and considering how playable Tekken 8 is, playing on the Steam Deck is the way to go.

Tekken 8 can be purchased on Steam for $69.99, but if you want a discount, you can purchase a Steam key on Fanatical for 16% off:
