Valve are preparing to ship the next version of Proton, their compatibility layer that runs Windows games on Steam Deck and GNU+Linux Linux with Proton 7.0-4 having a Release Candidate ready to test.
In the Steam client, the Proton 7.0 app should have a release-candidate
beta branch (look for Proton 7.0 in your Steam Library, right click -> Properties... -> BETAS) which you can choose to start testing the 7.0-4 Release Candidates (note that the name of the build in the Steam Settings dialog will not be updated).
The changelog is tentative - it has not yet been verified by Valve's QA staff, and can change before the final release.
Here's what's changed:
Valve are interested only in issues that are new to the 7.0-4 RC builds. Issues can be reported on the GitHub page.
