PlayStation just held a State of Play event, which is usually a smaller showcase showing off a handful of games. While it's a PlayStation event, there are still plenty of announcements that are relevant to the PC gaming crowd, and thus the Steam Deck.
So here are all the announcements for PC gamers from today's State of Play!

Games Shown at PlayStation's State of Play Event:
A Better Look at Monster Hunter Wilds First Free Updates - Game Coming February 28th, 2025
We got another trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds, which is only a couple of weeks away from release. We also got a sneak peek at the first title update which will add Mizutsune as a monster hunt, as well as a second title update in Summer which will add another monster. Both of these updates will be free.
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Releasing August 29th, 2025
Shinobi: Art of Vengeance brings the series back with a smooth-looking 2D hack'n'slash platformer. It should run great on the Steam Deck, as the system requirements are low and it has full controller support.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Revealed, Closed Test on February 21st
This one was leaked before the show, so we pretty much knew it was coming. But Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds got a new trailer, along with snippets of gameplay shown. It looks like the formula is mostly returning to how the original 2 games handled things, rather than racing in teams like Team Sonic Racing. No release date yet, but there is a closed network test on February 21st, but it might be PS Exclusive.
Digimon Story Time Stranger Announced, Coming 2025
Another game that was leaked for the event, Digimon Story Time Stranger was announced and is due to arrive in 2025. It looks pretty par for the course for a Digimon Story game, being a blend of RPG and monster taming.
Lost Soul Aside Gets a Gameplay Trailer, Coming May 30th
Embark on an epic odyssey to save your sister and the whole of humankind from dimensional invaders in Lost Soul Aside™ – a stylish single-player action-adventure RPG.
This one looks pretty flashy, I was worried it'd be another souls-like game, but this one seems to at least be a bit more fast-paced and action-oriented.
Dave The Diver Crosses Over With Like a Dragon for the Latest DLC - April 2025
Dave the Diver is crossing over with yet another franchise, namely the Like a Dragon one, with the new Ichiban's Holiday DLC which adds some of your favorite Like a Dragon/Yakuza characters to the game. There's no word on if this one is coming to PC yet, but we'd imagine it will.
WWE2K25 Reveals 'The Island', Coming March 14th
WWE2K25 is about a month away, and a new aspect of the game was revealed during the show, namely "The Island" which is essentially an online hub for players to meet others, shop, and customize their own avatar.
Borderlands 4 Will Get a Showcase Later in Spring, Launches September 23rd, 2025
Borderlands 4 got another gameplay trailer at the event, along with a release date. There's also the promise of a further State of Play event later in the Spring that will be focused exclusively on Borderlands 4.
A Further Look at Co-op Adventure 'Split Fiction' Coming March 6th, 2025
A game that I know plenty of people are excited about, Split Fiction will be launching in about 3 weeks' time, and the official story trailer just dropped during the show. We already got a good look at The Game Awards last year, but this sure refreshes our memory.
Directive 8020 Story Shown, Arrives October 2nd, 2025
Directive 8020 from Supermassive Games (Until Dawn, The Quarry) also got a story trailer during the State of Play, although we hadn't really seen much about this game until now. It's certainly in keeping with Supermassive Games' previous titles, being a narrative horror game.
A New Look at The Midnight Walk - Comes May 8th, 2025
While The Midnight Walk is a PSVR2 game, it's also available to play without VR on both PS5 and PC, something that many people seemed to miss when it was first revealed. Now we have an actual release date, and it's less than 3 months away. I'm not into "horror" games, but this game looks so quirky and unique that it's hard not to admire it.
Warriors: Abyss, a Roguelike Warriors Game - Out Now
This one came as a bit of a surprise, but for fans of the "Warriors" series from Koei Tecmo, they might be interested in a top-down roguelike spin-off. Warriors: Abyss is exactly that, giving you fast-paced action and a ton of combinations to try out to defeat your enemies.
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny, Coming May 23rd, 2025
The remake of the PS2 game Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny was unannounced at the State of Play, after being revealed by Capcom last week. There's still no Steam page for this one, but it is confirmed to be arriving on Steam.
New Trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword - Coming 2026
Unlike Onimusha 2, Onimusha: Way of the Sword does have a Steam page, and will be released in 2026. this reboot of the franchise looks pretty interesting. I don't have much knowledge of the Onimusha franchise, but I did find the decision to add humor to such a game surprising, and I'm undecided if it's a good or a bad thing right now!
A Look at the Story of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater - Coming August 28th, 2025
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater got a new trailer at the event, as well as a release date of August 28th, 2025. I never really played the Metal Gear Solid games, but this one is the first where I've been tempted to dive in and play.
Hell is Us Trailer Shown, Coming September 4th, 2025
Open-World adventure game Hell is Us got a further trailer at the State of Play, along with a release date announcement. Explore a land ravaged not only by human war but the appearance of supernatural creatures as you try to find out just what is causing this calamity.
Lies of P: Overture Announced, Coming Summer 2025
Lies of P: Overture is a DLC for Lies of P and a prequel to the game.
As Geppetto’s Puppet, you encounter a mysterious artifact that transports you back to Krat in its final days of grandeur. In the shadow of an impending tragedy, your mission is to explore the past and uncover its dark secrets—haunted by surprises, loss, and vengeance. The choices you make ripple through the past and present in the world of Lies of P, revealing hidden truths and leaving lasting consequences.
Days Gone is Being Remastered, Comes to PS5 on April 25th, 2025, PC as DLC
Days Gone is being remastered... Although looking at the trailer, it's pretty hard to tell if I'm being honest. This one also isn't strictly coming to PC. Instead, the new game modes and content being added to Days Gone Remastered on PS5 will be available as DLC for the PC version of Days Gone.
3D Hack'N'Slash Adventure 'Tides of Annihilation' Announced, Coming 2025
This was a pretty interesting one, a 3D Hack'N'Slash adventure game set in a distorted version of London. Regardless, the game looks quite beautiful, and it'll be interesting to see where it goes.
Metal Eden, FPS Boomer Shooter Launches May 6th, 2025
Metal Eden is a sci-fi boomer shooter designed to fill you with adrenaline. You'll be able to dash, grapple, and wall-run around the city as you fight in this machine war.
MindsEye, A Story-Driven Thriller, Launches Summer 2025
MindsEye was seemingly given a spotlight position in the State of Play, which seemed like a weird choice to me as it didn't particularly look very good. The premise of the story is interesting, that being a former soldier with a mysterious neural implant who is suffering from memory loss and flashbacks. But I feel like the presentation of the game let it down, with some strange lighting and oddly stilted animations at parts.
Conclusion
That's it for the State of Play event for February 2025. Did you see any games in there that you liked the look of? Personally, I'm hoping the new Sonic racing game can bring back the magic, as I feel like Team Sonic Racing dropped the ball a little after 2 great first outings for the series.
