News Tower Version 1.0 is all set to launch on November 4, 2025, for Steam, as it’s leaving Early Access. The game allows players to take charge of a chaotic 1930s New York newsroom on a quest. News Tower is developed by a 5-person indie studio, Sparrow Night (Rotterdam), and published by Twin Sails Interactive.

The game has already won four major categories at the 2024 Dutch Game Awards, like Best Game and Best Debut Game, and is considered “2024’s most fascinating management simulation”. Players can now wishlist it on Steam and see the latest trailer.

There is a new Competitor System in News Tower where you will be challenged in the region by the Jersey Beacon & The Empire Observer. The 1.0 launch will bring more content and unique mechanics that players haven’t seen in Early Access.

A new Perception System is also in place, and you need to choose either to expand your influence to new territories or to tackle the enemy. Choose to become Informational, Moderate, or Sensational to define your editorial voice. Editorial line will unlock specific ways to gain extra sales, as it modifies how readers view your paper.

News Tower Gameplay

The Faction System includes the Mafia, the Military, the Mayor, and High Society. Each faction comes with its quests and agendas and includes two distinct NPCs. Navigating carefully is advised; otherwise, you can make more enemies. The goal is to complete missions, build reputation, and earn unique rewards. Specific perks are allocated to the factions, ensuring the choice you make affects the gameplay.

The high-rise and low-rise are two new building towers that you need to unlock during your journey. While one is tall and requires very efficient use of space, the other is wide and needs more space to build. The tall building costs less per floor, and the wider building costs more per floor.

Decide which stories will be published, expand the newsroom equipment, and hire the best candidate. Keep the building’s lights on and restock the essential supplies you need for your business.

The headlines and story arcs of News Tower depend on heavy research on how newspapers give details of major events. Sparrow Night offers a narrative design with thoughtful references from organized crime to political propaganda.
