Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is an interesting game to play on the Steam Deck. Valve labeled it as Verified, then back to Playable, and now it's back to having the green checkmark. The Action Open-World game has had a lot of people claiming it to be very playable since its release, but our experience has told a different story. However, it may finally be more playable on the go.

In a new update that was released earlier today, developer Nixxes Software has specifically improved performance on the Steam Deck. They mentioned improving rendering and the default preset to enhance the performance on the Deck. Some games may just get random Verified badges, but it sounds like Nixxes has actually improved it to some degree.
Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to try it out for myself to see just how much better it is, but it sounds like this patch does improve it. The optimizations, along with improvements for Venom and Symbiotes sections with lower quality settings, may just barely put it over the line and help it reach the 30 FPS stable experience. It seems like it was enough to bring their Verified badge back, which is nice to see.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Sadly the Verified badge is completely worthless now. I doubt Valve will do anything meaningful about it.
