Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Is Free On Epic For May 4th

Today is May 4th, which is a special day for all of us Star Wars fans. To celebrate, there are tons of Star Wars games that are all on sale to celebrate, and while most of these cost money, Epic is getting into the spirit of giving and letting us have one of the best Star Wars games to keep forever, but it's only going to be free for one day.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is the newest game in the LEGO Star Wars franchise, and easily one of my favorites. The game was released in 2022 and allows you to play through the entirety of the nine mainline movies in a more interactive way than ever before. There are over 300 playable characters, 100+ vehicles to drive, 23 planets to explore, and so much more. I love the game, and until tomorrow, on May 5th at 10:00pm PT, it is completely free to add to your library on the Epic Games Store.

To play it on the Steam Deck, you will need to use either the Heroic Games Launcher (my preferred launcher), Lutris, or a third-party installer to easily add the Epic Games Store to your Deck (NonSteamLaunchers). Once done, you can install the game and launch it. Heroic is the easiest way to do this and will automatically launch it with Proton, you just need to download and click the "Add to Steam" button.

The game also runs quite decently on the Steam Deck. It is definitely playable at 30 FPS with higher settings, but could run at 40 FPS with some sacrifices. It's also rated Verified on Steam and ProtonDB Platinum, so it has a pretty solid seal of approval.

You can grab the game for free on Epic until tomorrow, but if you want it directly on Steam, you can buy it there for $9.99 until May 7th.
