The Indie Game Award is a competition held at the Taipei Game Show each year, and they've just announced this year's winners.

So here's a rundown of all the winners and categories
- Best Narrative: Minds Beneath Us by Barebone (Taiwanese)
- Best Audio: The Midnight Barber by Omaet Games (Spanish)
- Best Visual Art: Sunset Hills by Cotton Game (Chinese)
- Best Design: Bionic Bay by Psychoflow Studio (Taiwanese)
- Best Innovation: Balatro by Localthunk (Canadian)
- Best Mobile Game: Balatro by Localthunk (Canadian)
- Best Student Game: MONOWAVE by BBB (South Korean)
- Grand Prix: Minds Beneath Us by Barebone (Taiwanese)
Grand Prix here is essentially the Indie Game Award equivalent of winning Game of the Year. The judges felt like Minds Beneath Us presented the best all-around game, with an excellent storyline, characters, and soundtrack creating an "exceptional atmosphere".
This was the first year that Xbox was involved in the Indie Game Award, with a representative serving on the panel of judges, alongside various other companies such as Sony and IGN Japan. Shuhei Yoshida was also present, the former Head of Indies at Sony Interactive Entertainment.
If you happen to be at the Taipei Game Show, then all winning titles will be showcased and available for demo at the Indie Game Award 2025 Winner Pavilion, located within the Indie House of the B2C Zone.

These winners came from a selection of 340 different indie game developers from 52 countries submitting their games for evaluation, with the judges noting that they're seeing a continual increase in the quality of indie games that they are presented with.
