While owning games on Steam makes playing them on the Steam Deck much easier, we here at Steam Deck HQ are a big fan of what GOG does, bringing older games to newer generations and preserving all those gems so we old folk can go back and enjoy them whenever we feel like it, all DRM-Free. And there are ways to play GOG games easily on the Steam Deck too, through programs such as the Heroic Games Launcher.

Another reason to like GOG is that as part of their Winter Sale this year, they're holding a surprise each day on their calendar throughout December, with the first surprise being a free game, The Whispered World: Special Edition, we're excited to see what surprises are in the rest of the calendar.

GOGWinterSale

You can head on over to their Winter Sale Promo Page to view the calendar to get links to the free games and deals, with each one being revealed at 6 AM Pacific Time everyday until the 31st of December. The first surprise is even giving you 72 hours to redeem the giveaway game, so hopefully you won't be kicking yourself that you didn't check the page that day and missed out!

GOGFreeGames

We'll try and keep you up to date with any big surprises that might drop on GOG as we go through December, we don't know what surprises will be more free games like the one for today, or steep discounts on more desirable games. Either way, it's always exciting to see what deals will crop up!

Have you noticed any good deals in the GOG Winter Sale? Why not let everyone else know in the comments below?
