Folklands is an endearing, hidden gem that I’ve been enjoying a lot. It’s a nice isometric colony sim that needs more attention in my eyes, and a new major update launched today that adds Steam Deck support.

Folklands

This is a pretty chunky update that improves performance and the interface across the board, and it includes some new systems like education and the long-awaited tech tree. The main thing that applies to us of course is the inclusion of Steam Deck support, including controller inputs and optimization to the interface. When I last tested Folklands on the Deck, it was a bit hard to read text on the screen, so this should go a long way to make this underrated colony sim playable on the go.

Folklands is on sale for $11.99 until September 14.
