Combolite may have just become my new obsession. It's a deckbuilding game where you buy weapons to chain together to deal a specific amount of damage to a ball. Each weapon can influence the others, gems and buffs can be applied to boost damage even more. I found it hard to stop playing, even when I was starting to get exhausted due to it being so late at night, and the new update is making it even better to play on the Steam Deck.

The game just received a major update, which added a bunch of new content and a specific improvement for the Steam Deck. The font size of objectives has been increased to make them more readable on the Deck's smaller screen. With how much info can be displayed, I found this change to be a very welcome one, and it really does help make it more readable.
Thankfully, it also plays extremely well on the Deck! I was running the game right out of the box at 90 FPS, with a range of battery drain going from 9W - 16W depending on the area. I would still consider it very playable, even with the range of battery drain, and I had a blast.
The update also adds in six new weapons, two new buffs, new projectiles, a fight speed selector to make it go faster or slower, some optimizations to make the game run around 60% better than before, and a slate of bug fixes to help with projectile buffs, shop rarity chances, light intensity on combos, and purple gems properly count items towards its multiplier like it should.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Combolite is on sale for $5.59 for the Steam Summer Sale until July 10th.
