Clutchtime: Basketball Deckbuilder is set to release on PC via Steam on July 24, 2025. The developers and publishers were inspired by games like Balatro and kept the mechanics somewhat similar in this upcoming title. They try to provide the deckbuilder genre with a unique spin as they try to develop a marriage between basketball and deckbuilding. The game contains deep knowledge of basketball, allowing players to gain experience with the sport.

The developers of games Son of a Witch and Watermelon Party, Bigosaur, have officially announced the release date for Clutchtime: Basketball Deckbuilder. Fans can visit Steam to check out the demo and wishlist the game now. Play passes, shots, steals, rebounds, and blocks. Substitute players, call timeouts, and challenge the calls with the cards in your hand. You can even choose to appeal to the refs if needed.

Milan Babuškov, lead developer at Bigosaur, said, “I’m very excited to bring Clutchtime to deckbuilding and basketball fans alike”. “As a massive basketball fan, this was truly a passion project. Combining my deep knowledge of the sport with my love of gaming was an extremely gratifying experience, and I’m happy to share it with the rest of the world.”

The Serbian developer has a passion for turning game development into a passion, utilizing basketball with the help of hometown superstars like Nikola Jokić, Bogdan Bogdanović, Boban Marjanović, and more.

Players can participate in the Clutchtime: Tournament Edition during Steam Next Fest, as revealed while announcing the launch date. This allows the players to learn what will be included in the full launch of the game.

Players can choose to play through two distinct game modes. Elimination is one of the modes in which the tournament feels like a roguelike, while Classic mode requires players to qualify for the playoffs to fight for the Championship title. Players can not only upgrade cards or trade with other teams, but also duplicate their favorite cards.
