Missing the good ol' days of Guitar Hero? Wishing you could take it with you wherever you go as easy as possible? Well with this controller and your Steam Deck, this can be possible! Reddit user lacroixlibation (VladTheInhaler) posted about a new design they came up with to create a mini guitar controller to be used for Clone Hero on the go!
This 3D printed controller, which is available on Printables and is licensed under a Creative Commons 4.0 International License, is used with an Arduino Pro Micro (5v) microcontroller and some MX Cherry Switches to turn this into a full working controller that was configured using Sanjay900's Guitar Configurator Program!
While you do need to build it yourself, the possibility is now here to be able to have a travel-sized guitar controller that you can take with you to play Clone Hero on your Steam Deck wherever you go.
This model was created as a remix of GermanDarknes's version of the mini guitar controller, but has a couple differences from it including the new body redesigned for comfort, a thicker neck, Xplorer-style fret buttons, aesthetic improvements, and a mounting point for tilt sensor. GermanDarknes's page does have a part list currently and some instructions, but it may not be a 1 to 1 that works with Vlad's version, so be warned.
In the comments, they mentioned that they will be updating the page with a parts list, so once that is up, we will update this article. You would need to build this yourself, so it may not be for everyone, but it is a really cool project and I can't wait to see where it goes.
