Today, we had a brand new showcase from Capcom highlighting the games coming out this year and next, as well as introducing a new IP. While there weren't a ton of announcements, we went over and got the highlights that apply to Steam/Steam Deck. Here is what we found:
Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess - More Info Given
During the Xbox showcase, a new Capcom IP was shown off called Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess and today, we got a little more information. A clash between the spirit and mortal realm will take place and you will need to help cleanse and purify the land from the Seethe. This will be a unique game inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics and uses the RE engine. The game will also be coming to Steam!
Mega Man X DiVE Offline Revealed
Log in and rescue the data in Mega Man X DiVE Offline! The offline version of the PC/Mobile game of the same name, minus the "Offline", you will be able to save the Deep Log by going through 900 stages and using over 100 characters to destroy recognizable bosses. You will be able to level up characters and equipment to create the most powerful hero possible. It will be launching this year on mobile devices and Steam.
Street Fighter 6 Tournament Announcement
Street Fighter 6 recently announced it has surpassed 1 million sales for the game, which is amazing, and now we have the introduction of SF6 into the esports world. The Capcom Pro Tour 2023 will have a $1 million prize for the Capcom Cup X and the Street Fighter League: Pro JP 2023 will begin on July 7th with 9 teams of 36 players to hopefully be crowned the best team in Japan!
Street Fighter 6 is released on Steam and costs $60.
Pragmata Release Date Pushed
The upcoming Pragmata, which was supposed to be released this year, is going to be pushed to next year to make sure the game is fully ready. We did get to see a little bit more gameplay and such and it looks to be a very interesting title. Hopefully, we will have a very great final product once a release date is finalized!
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective Demo Available Now
With the release date for the HD remaster of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, a new demo was released today to try out! The game is a mystery solving adventure made by the creator of the Ace Attorney franchise! I tried out the demo on the Steam Deck, as it is live on Steam, and it absolutely runs like a charm, so I would say this will probably be a Best on Deck game!
Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney Trilogy Revealed - Coming 2024
Speaking of the Ace Attorney franchise, the next 4th, 5th, and 6th game in the series are getting remasters and coming out next year! The game will have full HD visuals in 7 languages with voice recordings in each of them.
There's no Steam page up for the trilogy yet, but we can confirm the game is coming to PC, just no word on the DRM.
Exoprimal New Trailer and Next Open Beta
A new trailer for the co-op action game Exoprimal was shown off and gave us some new details about the story. We finally met the creator of the Exosuits as well as see a new variant, the Deadeye Alpha: Burst Fire. There was also a new co-op mode introduced called Savage Gauntlet, where you complete weekly PvE missions and try to get the fastest completion time.
There will also be another open beta taking place from June 15 - June 18. This one will have 10 co-op missions and more story content to look at the main game mode, Dino Survival. You can pre-order the game on Steam now for release on July 13th and look forward to collaboration content, like the Street Fighter 6 collab update!
Dragon's Dogma 2 First Gameplay Details
The first in-depth gameplay details for Dragon's Dogma 2 was revealed too. Just like the original game, you will travel with pawns, AI teammates that will fight with you. You will have a personal pawn that you can create and customize, as well as 2 others that are made by other players. Pawns are capable of more precise actions during combat and help outside of battle in getting around. The game also takes advantage of the RE Engine and has a world that is 4x bigger than the previous game. There are also nice immersive physics that are here and will give more ways to play.
Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't have a release date yet, but will release on Steam.
And those are the highlights from today's Capcom showcase! Personally, I am excited to dive into Exoprimal and play those Ace Attorney games since I love the series! There's a good chunk to love here, though a DMC 6 or RE 9 announcement would have really blew my mind. Regardless, this was a great little presentation to dive into some exciting upcoming games!
