Block Fortress 2 looks like an awesome game to play. You choose a planet and build your own fortress, then have to defend it and yourself against an onslaught of enemies. I love these kinds of games, especially when there's free rein to build what you want to defend, and I love the variety of weird, overpowered weapons you can use. And with the newest update, it should be a bit more playable on the Steam Deck.

In the new update, there are a bunch of changes to make the game better to play, but there's one specific improvement for the Steam Deck. Font sizes have been increased on the Steam Deck and other devices that have lower resolutions. This, paired with the major optimizations for rendering groups of enemy models, should help a lot with playability on the go.

Outside of that, there are a multitude of other changes. Laser Turrets now have unlimited range, but higher power draw and reduced HP. Blockoid Arcanus no longer instantly loses the game when its countdown completes, Thermal Rifle reload has been increased, the cost of the Cloaking Field mod has been increased, and nearly all turrets and enemies no longer damage natural blocks like grass and dirt. Nuke explosions will also no longer flash the screen if the option isn't selected.

You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Block Fortress 2 is $19.99 and is rated Playable due to showing incorrect controller icons, small in-game text, and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.
