Assassin's Creed Shadows may actually be launching in under 2 months, after numerous delays. Ubisoft has taken the time to reveal some more details about the game, mostly related to post-launch support and final pricing details. Along with confirmation that the game is due to launch on March 20th, they also confirmed the launch price of $69.99 for the game's Standard Edition, $89.99 for the Digital Deluxe Edition, and $229.99 for the Collector's Edition.
Alongside that, they also revealed that the Claws of Awaji Expansion that's releasing later in 2025 will be free for all players who pre-order the game.
In case you're not up to speed with Assassin's Creed Shadows, this iteration of the franchise takes the players to 16th century Japan, where they'll play as Naoe, a shinobi Assassin, and Yasuke, a samurai based on historical legend, whose stories have become intertwined with one another.
As for the different editions of the game available, besides the Standard Edition which just includes the game (and the Expansion if you pre-order), we also have the Digital Deluxe and Collector's Editions.
- The Digital Deluxe Edition will include the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack” which contains gear, and weapons for both Naoe and Yasuke, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack” containing hideout cosmetics, and “Mastery Points”.
- The Collector’s Edition will include the base game, the “Sekiryu Dual Pack”, the “Sekiryu Hideout Pack”, “Mastery Points”, and physical content. The physical content will be a Steelbook, the World map, Naoe & Yasuke figurine, Naoe's life-sized Katana Tsuba, a Wall Creed Scroll, a 76-paged collector's artbook, and 2 sumi-e lithographs.
The pre-order expansion promises to include over 10 hours of additional content by adding a new region to the world map, along with new skills, gear, abilities, and a new weapon. You can find out more details on the expansion here. You will also get access to a bonus quest by pre-ordering.
Lastly, here are the PC System Requirements for Assassin's Creed Shadows as released by Ubisoft, possibly the most interesting news here as far as running the game on the Steam Deck is concerned:
Minimum Requirements:
Resolution/FPS Using Dynamic Resolution and Upscaling: 1080P at 30 FPS
Visual Settings: Low
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 8700k/ AMD Ryzen™ 5 3600
GPU: Nvidia® GeForce GTX™ 1070 8GB/ AMD Radeon™ RX 5700 8GB/ Intel® Arc™ A580 8GB (REBAR ON)
This is pretty damning, unfortunately, as Assassin's Creed Shadows enforces the use of Ray-Tracing, much like Star Wars: Outlaws, which is a game that does not run well on the Steam Deck. It's likely the same will apply to Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Asssassin's Creed Shadows is due to launch on Steam on March 20th, you can pre-order the game now, although we can likely assume it won't run well on the Steam Deck.
