SteamVR has been getting its fair share of updates lately, and we've just had another beta update to tighten things up. This one seems mostly focused on UI improvements, such as notifying users when the frame rate of the headset has been changed, allowing users to cancel refocusing their view with the B button, and preventing some situations where the SteamVR Dashboard Bar disappears.
Notably, they've also improved how Linux handles wired VR headsets by seemingly handling the connection directly through Steam rather than using third-party software to make the connection.

You can check out the full changelog for the SteamVR 2.17.7 beta below:
SteamVR:
- Recenter (long press system button) is cancellable (B button)
- Improved Exit button consistency with Steam
- Fixed additional cases of SteamVR dashboard bar disappearance
- Show user notification when headset framerate changes
- Additional improvements to wired headset support on Linux (which previously required third-party add-on layers)
Steam Link:
- Fixed being unable to switch active laser pointer hand when using hand tracking
- Numerous stability improvements
OpenXR:
- Allow apps to configure stage space as unrecenterable
- Improved integrations between HMDs with cameras and chaperone
We're still patiently awaiting more news on the Steam Frame, Valve's own VR headset. Personally, I thought it might have been released by now, but it looks like we still have a little while to wait.
