It has been a wonderfully crazy launch for the Steam Controller. Similar to the Steam Deck, stock for the controller sold out extremely quickly, only lasting about an hour before it ran out. There were a lot of people who, unfortunately, did not get a chance to get one, but it sounds like Valve is on the case.

On their official Twitter/X, Valve posted about the Steam Controller running out faster than they anticipated. They are currently working on getting more in stock, though there is no timeline for when that will happen just yet.

Steam Controller ran out faster than we anticipated, and we hate that not everyone who wanted one was able to get it. We’re working on getting more in stock and will have an update on expected timeline soon.

I’m not surprised this has happened, and I expected Valve to already be working on getting more stock in, but it does make me very happy to see. It’s great that they acknowledge that they ran out quicker than expected and are working on getting more in. Hopefully, it will happen relatively quickly, because there are a lot of people who want a controller but haven’t gotten it yet.
