Root is an incredibly popular board game, and its Steam counterpart continues to get solid updates to this day. The new Hirelings and Landmarks DLC for Root has just dropped, and with it comes a new patch that brings a slew of improvements to the game for all players.

The main fix that benefits us on the Steam Deck was an annoying bug where tapped cards and tooltips would not go away properly, but this is quite an expanded list of changes. The update introduces several gameplay, AI, and quality-of-life improvements, including new Bluff options, improved Vagabound and Eyrie AI, optional camera movement, new hotkeys, and a ton of other bug fixes. This is a great update to be alongside the new expansion.

Root is $14.99 on Steam. The Hirelings & Landmarks DLC is $9.99, and the 2.0 update is available to all free of charge.
