Well this is welcome news to start the day off! Return to Monkey Island, which releases on September 19th, has been confirmed to not only be working with Proton, but that the developers are in the process of ironing out a native Linux build for the game. This was confirmed by Ron Gilbert, the designer/creator of Monkey Island, in a response to a tweet:

Now, nothing is set in stone until it actually releases, but coming from the creator themselves, I am a bit more optimistic. We are super elated to hear it is working well with Proton, but a native Linux build will always be preferred if possible. No firm release date was shown, only that it could come soon after launch.

What do you guys think? Will you be getting Return to Monkey Island? Let us know!
