Hunt: Showdown Proton 10 Beta Updates

The Proton 10 beta officially launched last week, but since then, we have had a couple of new updates to improve it even further. The first update was a smaller one, fixing generated .vdf files that broke compatibility with mod launchers, but the second update focuses more on the games. 10.0-1d fixed some issues with Oblivion Remastered, Jusant, Hunt: Showdown, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Warframe.

You can download the beta for yourself by searching for "Proton 10" in the search bar on your Steam Deck. Once you find it, just install the layer, and you can find it in your compatibility tab to force it. If you already have it installed, it should update automatically.

Proton 10.0-1c Beta Update Changelog:

  • Fixed issue where generated libraryfolders.vdf file had garbage memory written to it breaking software relying on it, e.g. mod launchers.
  • Restored behavior that does best-effort Proton prefix upgrades when a unknown prefix version is detected.

Proton 10.0-1d Beta Update Changelog:

  • Fixed The Elden Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered sometimes wrongly claiming that it's not installed on an SSD.
  • Fixed Jusant crashing with Intel GPUs.
  • Fixed Proton 10 regressions:
    • Simon the Sorcerer: 25th Anniversary Edition displays non-latin scripts correctly again.
    • Hunt: Showdown, Warframe, Rising Storm 2: Vietnam, Red Dead Redemption 2 and potentially many other games no longer have issues with key bindings and detecting the layout correctly with non-US-english keyboard layouts.
