Nintendo revealed in their latest financial results that they are now shifting their development focus from the original Switch to the Switch 2, in case that wasn't already obvious. With the console now selling over 10 million units, and 84% of those customers coming from the original Switch system, it's clear that the Switch playerbase was ready for the upgrade, and Nintendo is ready to leave the Switch in the past.

That being said, Nintendo also says that it will continue producing original Switch consoles as long as consumer demand exists. So we probably won't be seeing it leave the store shelves for a while yet.

Nintendo also shared that there are currently 34 million Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, which is a pretty healthy amount, although it accounts for just a little over a quarter of actual players.

Plus, there was a sneaky mention in the presentation that we can expect more movies from Nintendo IPs after the Zelda movie in 2027.
