Marvel Rivals isn’t holding back, as the new mid-season update, Season 3.5: The Abyss Awaken, is just around the corner. Marvel Games and NetEase Games shared all details of what players can expect in the upcoming mid-season update, releasing on August 8.

Blade is a new playable character that will arrive this season, along with a new map (Throne of Knull). A new game mode, Resource Rumble, is also coming, providing a new challenge for all the players.
Phoenix was trapped in Season 3 of Marvel Rivals, which urged the Phoenix Force to get help from the cosmic egg. However, the Phoenix Egg cracked prematurely when the heroes battled.
Blade will finally be joining the Marvel Rivals roster in Season 3.5. He is a duelist who comes with unique abilities and strength to dominate opponents in a match. He uses his shotgun to increase the pressure on enemies at mid-to-close range. The shotgun mitigates the healing effect of the enemies at the precise time. After that, he can equip his Ancestral Sword to eliminate the enemies in his path. Blade will use the legendary Sword of Dracula, allowing him to dash through enemies. All these abilities make him a formidable hero in the game.
Marvel Rivals has also released a Blade character and gameplay trailer to showcase the new duelist.
Resource Rumble is the new game mode that arrives in the August 22 update, along with a new map (Throne of Knull). To gain player feedback and fine-tune the experience, this mode and map will be launched in Quick Match.
Marvel Rivals depends on communication and teamwork, and devs have upgraded the in-game comms starting with the new mid-season patch. All in-game voice chat will now be automatically screened by the system according to player reports and manual review. This is to catch toxic in-game behavior and foul language, and penalize those guilty.
The developers also added a custom filter for text chat in Season 3 of Marvel Rivals. The message will be filtered out if it contains a muted word, allowing the players to customize their experience. In the latest Dev Vision for Marvel Rivals, there are tons of features and details highlighted for Season 3.5.
A teammate leaving a competitive match makes it very frustrating. This makes it harder when the players work harder to win the match because they will still lose if they stay till the end. The developers have increased the penalties for players who quit: longer bans from Competitive play, and bigger point deductions in season 3.5. Players may also get compensation points at the end of the match. One less vote than the number of remaining teammates is required from the surrender votes. They will also review when players leave due to system issues and compensate for the penalties.
As for the Season 3.5 balance changes and team-up abilities, a few changes are coming. They remove the Guardian Revival (Adam Warlock - Mantis/Star-Lord) and Atlas Bond (Iron Fist - Luna Snow) from play. Loki will also leave the Ragnarok Rebirth (Hela - Thor/Loki) team-up. Duality Dance (Adam Warlock - Luna Snow) and Vibrant Vitality (Mantis - Groot/Loki) are the two new team-ups. Iron Fist joins Chilling Assault (Luna Snow - Hawkeye), Star-Lord connects to the Rocket Network (Rocket Raccoon - Peni Parker), and Blade launches into Lunar Force.
Marvel Rivals Ignite Mid-Season Finals will be held from August 6 -10 in Guangzhou, China. Ten factions will compete against each other to win the championship.
Marvel Rivals is available as a free-to-play game on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
