I love the LEGO games, and they are still some of my favorites to play today. So, when LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight was announced, I was extremely excited. It looks like they turned the Arkham series into LEGO format, and I couldn’t wait to see what the game would be like. And it sounds like playing on the Steam Deck may be possible.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Yesterday, the game got the Steam Deck Verified badge. This shows that Valve has noted that the game is supposedly showing the correct controller icons, the in-game text is legible, and the default controlled configuration and graphical settings work well. It also notes that the game will not default to external controllers and may require manual switching in the quick access menu.

This actually surprises me quite a bit. Based on the spec sheet that was released, I was very unsure about how the performance could be on the Deck. It showed that you would need frame generation to play at the minimum spec requirements, and it was asking for a limit of 30 FPS. With frame generation, that is terrible. This gives me a little bit of hope that the spec sheet was wrong, but I still have my worries. It will be even worse if frame generation is part of the default settings, so I’m still being cautious.

However, in the end, I do have hope for the game. I would love to be able to add this to my LEGO collection to play on the go, and while the Verified system is always most accurate, it is nice to see.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight can be pre-purchased for $69.99 ahead of its May 22nd release date.
