While we were already quite excited to see the AYANEO FLIP, the first clamshell designed handheld from them, it seems they will be taking this design a step further than we initially thought. AYANEO seems to be planning to release a 2nd version of the FLIP, which will feature a second screen similar to a DS.

According to a leak from a credible source, who also provided the image above, it seems we are going to be getting two versions of the FLIP: the AYANEO FLIP KB (Keyboard) and AYANEO FLIP DS (Dual-Screen). Both versions will be powered by the 7840U APU and feature a 120hz screen. We don't know the exact size of the bottom screen or its resolution just yet, but the possibilities are endless!

I love the new design and am quite happy AYANEO is trying something like this. This will be especially great for DS, 3DS, and WiiU emulation, but I can see many use cases come from having multiple screens. I could see myself putting Discord on the bottom screen while playing a multiplayer game using the main screen on the top.

We have reached out to AYANEO to verify this, but the one who leaked this information has given us credible information in the past, so we feel confident reporting this! There is no information about exactly when this will be released, but we will be eagerly awaiting the announcement and seeing this incredible device in action.
