Hyper Light Breaker may have had a rocky launch, but it has a fantastic foundation I can't wait to see expanded. The 3D action-adventure game is a far cry from their previous game in the series, Hyper Light Drifter, but is still a blast filled with tons of action and co-op goodness. I can only see it getting better from here, and it just became nicer to play on the Steam Deck.

This hotfix primarily addressed bug fixes, but it has one that should be particularly nice for players on the Steam Deck. There is a password input window in-game that could lose focus when pressing any gamepad button, making it nearly impossible to put anything in on the Deck. Now, this is fixed, so we shouldn't have to experience this anymore. With the game now being in the playable realm on the Steam Deck, this is appreciated.

The rest of the patch fixes up some obnoxious problems and makes the game overall more enjoyable. The volume of the hoverboard boost from Elite Gyroscope has been reduced, Zero Edge Blade's special text has been adjusted to be more accurate, Drop Down Labs has been properly scaled, Rails will now display properly in multiplayer, and spawns after drowning on the beach have been fixed.

There are a couple more changes with this update as well, and you can check them out via their Steam Community Post. I also appreciate that developer Heart Machine took the community into account with some of their fixes in this patch, and I look forward to seeing more of it.

Hyper Light Breaker is on sale for $25.49 until March 1st and is rated Playable due to small in-game text and needing to manually bring up the virtual keyboard.
