For all you Earth Defense Force fans out there, you'll be glad to hear that the latest entry in the series, Earth Defense Force 6, has received a release date of July 25th, 2024! Pre-orders will be starting on Steam from June, with the Standard Edition being $59.99.
Earth Defense Force 6 is set 3 years after the events of Earth Defense Force 5, in the year 2027. The humans may have won the war and are rebuilding, but threats to the world’s safety remain persistent. The Primers left behind many alien colonists and the two species have become increasingly hostile toward one another. The Earth Defense Force (EDF) is once again called upon to protect the planet from aggressive extraterrestrial invaders and determine the true purpose of the giant ring-shaped object that has recently appeared in the sky.

Earth Defense Force 6 will allow you to carry on the story, with it serving as a direct sequel to the events of Earth Defense Force 5, you will embark on a perilous adventure, unveiling an exciting new story within the EDF series.
Familiar classes return with the Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer classes armed with new abilities and a diverse arsenal, empowering players to defend Earth effectively against a wide range of colossal and deadly alien creatures.
Earth Defense Force 6 will feature an enormous amount of new content, including hundreds of new missions, weapons, and more for players to discover. And you can do all this in two-player co-op with split-screen or online co-op with up to four players, to tackle the alien menace together and ensure an exciting gameplay experience.



Earth Defense Force 6 is due to launch on Steam on July 25th, 2024 for $59.99. Pre-orders will begin in June. There's no word on controller support or the system requirements of the game so far, although Earth Defense Force 5 did have controller support, so there's some hope there.
