The game has players laying down tracks, trains, and sending explosives to the enemy’s train depot. It’s a fast-paced roguelite duel, with boss battles, special events, and multiple paths.
Bandai Namco Entertainment America vice president Karim Farghaly added “We were on board with BATTLE TRAIN from the moment we met the creative teams behind it and had a chance to play this unforgettable deckbuilding game,” talking on Battle Train’s style he added “What struck us with BATTLE TRAIN is its innovations in visual style, narrative backdrop and combination of genres, all of it coming together to create an explosive experience that’s incredibly fun and remains a joy as you play over and over again.”
In Battle Train, players compete in a train combat Rival Championship. Players collect cards and build a deck to improve and build new tracks, as well as unlock resources, with the main task to protect their bases and destroy the enemy's bases. Tracks depend on the cards you have, with each having a unique cost. Players connect the tracks to the enemy base to send an explosive locomotive down the rails.
A free Steam demo is also available for players to try out Battle Train before the roguelite deck builder releases on Steam and Nintendo Switch on June 18.
