BallisticNG looks like a fantastic Wipeout-esque game. You take futuristic vehicles and race on sci-fi anti-gravity tracks in a big campaign, custom races, and some great modding support. This tribute to the anti-gravity racers of before is awesome, and it looks like a great game to play on the Steam Deck.

While BallisticNG is already Steam Deck Verified, there is still more work being done behind the scenes to make it as comfortable to play as possible. In the latest update on the development branch, there have been some UI changes and overall improvements to make the experience better. Two controllers are now automatically assigned to players to fix a compatibility issue with the Deck and external controllers, event details, tooltips, detail pages, and advanced sector's font sizes have been increased, and practice mode guide descriptions now provide more space for larger input glyphs, which is helpful for smaller screens.

There are also new standardized input prompt positions, the campaign info now has tabs, the game will now report controller events, controller data is now saved by device ID over hardware ID, and controller settings are now saved when the game closes. There are also a ton of new cockpits added to the game so you can race from a camera view inside the ship you are driving.

There are a ton of changes with this update, and you can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post. You can access this update by going to the game's properties and changing the beta branch to "development" in the beta tab.
