Borderlands 4 Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update has been released with a few new playable games and game fixes. Bloody Zombies and Soul Land are both now playable, while STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT and Borderlands 4 both had some nice fixes for them. EA App games should now display the correct splash image as well.

The new update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.

Proton Experimental 9/11/26 Update Changelog:

  • Now playable: 8bit Fiesta - The Drinking Game, Bloody Zombies, Soul Land: Awakening World
  • Fixed missing character voice lines in STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT.
  • Fixed EA App titles not displaying the correct splash image.
  • Fixed Borderlands 4 showing up command prompt on the first launch.
  • Updated Wine Mono to 11.2.1.
