Marvel Rivals Proton Experimental

A new Proton Experimental update was released with a new playable game and an assortment of fixes. Heroes of the Three Kingdoms 7 is now playable, while Diablo 4 and Marvel Rivals should now be playable again after recent updates broke them. RPGMaker games shouldn't freeze anymore, while The Coma 3 is now playable again.

The new update should automatically download if you already have the experimental layer. If not, just search for Proton Experimental in the Steam store on your Steam Deck and download.

Proton Experimental 7/15/26 Update Changelog:

  • Now playable: Heroes of the Three Kingdoms 7.
  • Fixed sprites not rendering in Zombie Estate 2.
  • Fixed Diablo IV not being playable after a recent game update.
  • Fixed Marvel Rivals crashing after a recent game update.
  • Fixed RPGMaker Engine games freezing after being minimized inside of gamescope.
  • Fixed audio cutting out in Touhou Danmaku Kagura Phantasia Lost.
  • Fixed Proton 11 regressions:
    • The Coma 3: Bloodlines is playable again.
    • Elite Dangerous HUD Mod should no longer crash the game.
