Even though I prefer getting games on Steam directly, there’s something very appealing about buying them on GOG. I do enjoy having all my games in one place, but being able to download them and be able to play them without any DRM is quite nice. Well, he isn’t usually a problem, but buying licenses to play games, as we do through Steam, means that they can be revoked at any time, which is a scary thought. GOG doesn’t have that problem, and more developers have been putting their games on the platform to support them. Square Enix is one of those, and they just put four new games on the storefront that I think will be well worth checking out.

Romancing SaGa GOG

Recently, Square Enix put four of the Romancing SaGa games on the storefront:

And to celebrate, all of these games are discounted by 70%, with the only exception being SaGa Frontier Remastered at 50% off. They will all stay on sale until May 4th, so we have about 2 weeks to pick them up. GOG games are quite easy to run on the Steam Deck, and you can get them via the Heroic Games Launcher, NonSteamLaunchers, or even Decky plugins like Unifideck.

Luckily, all of these games are fantastic to enjoy and work like a charm on the Steam Deck. I tested each one using Unifideck, and they all run as expected with the gamepad immediately recognized. These should be wonderful games to enjoy on the Deck, so I recommend getting them before May 4th to take advantage of the discount!

The GOG links above are using an affiliate link, which gives us a little back from sales at no extra charge to you. All proceeds go back into SDHQ and its development.
