PRAGMATA is by far one of my favorite games that I’ve played this year. The way he combines puzzle and action elements in its combat is so unique and challenging, but the skill required makes every kill feel rewarding. I go on and on about it in my review, but it looks like now Valve agrees that this is a great game to play on the Steam Deck.

You can save some money by getting PRAGMATA on Fanatical for $49.17.

PRAGMATA

Late last night, Valve officially gave the game the Steam Deck Verified badge. This notes that the game’s default graphics and controller configuration work well, the in-game text is legible, and the controller icons are accurate. While this doesn’t usually mean the game is actually great on the Deck, in this case, I can happily say it is.

The only issue I would say was a problem during review was the default proton layer encountering a D3D issue. At the time, the default was Proton 9.0-4, but now, it seems to be defaulting to 10.0-4. This may have affected the problem that I was encountering before, which is great.

As for the default settings, the game defaults to FSR 1 upscaling, which I highly recommend changing. FSR3 is significantly better and doesn’t cost much extra performance. It does cost some, but it’s more worthwhile to change it. The game looks significantly better, so changing it will help a lot when it comes to visuals, and it’s a night-and-day difference. But overall, this game definitely deserves the green checkmark.
