There are a multitude of games to play when you want to just relax, but one of the most critically acclaimed is PowerWash Simulator 2. As we noted in our review, the sequel builds on its original strengths and layers in just enough new content to keep the formula feeling fresh. Now, the team is releasing its first DLC, giving us a chance to clean up the land of Ooo from Adventure Time, and it’s as great as I had hoped.
Now, developer FuturLab does have a history of big-IP DLC with PowerWash Simulator 1. They have DLC for Shrek, Tomb Raider, Warhammer, Back to the Future, and even SpongeBob, so this could be a big indicator of them continuing this trend with PowerWash Simulator 2, I hope.

Admittedly, I am a huge fan of Adventure Time, so I found a lot of love in the five levels that are included here. There are just so many little references, two different aspects of the series, with a lot of them just lying around the place, like the Enchiridion on the couch in Finn and Jake’s house or Gunther just standing around in Ice King’s Lair. It was like going back to memory lane and away, remembering some of my favorite moments of the series while relaxing to the sound of rushing water wiping away the grime.
Still, even for those who are fans of the series, the levels themselves are well-crafted in a great variety. The first level starts us off in Finn and Jake’s house, but after that’s done, we head to the Candy Kingdom to clean up the outsides of multiple houses. It does require going up on their roofs, so we can move ladders, and it’s a nice change of pace just being outside. And of course, these levels look nothing like the levels already included in the game, so that alone was a nice change of pace.
One of my favorite little auditions with this DLC is actually the little conversations that we can see characters from the series having. As we get to certain percentages of the cleanup, some of the characters will start talking to each other in the bottom left corner of the screen. These are in the form of text chats, so it will require stopping and reading, but it was a nice little touch that I enjoyed. However, it would’ve been really great if they were voiced.

And while it isn’t a defining feature, we do get to play these levels as a Candy Cleaner. It doesn’t really change much other than the aesthetics of the tools we use and our hands, which is a nice little change of pace from our usual cleaner. I do wish we could use this outfit and tools outside of these levels, as that would be my main cleaner from now on, but it’s in the scope of these levels.
Of course, these levels perform wonderfully on the Steam Deck. Using our recommended settings, the levels all performed perfectly without issue. So, there should be no issues cleaning up on the go.
Ultimately, if you’re a fan of PowerWash Simulator 2 and want some unique levels to clean, you won’t be disappointed with this DLC. And if you’re a fan of Adventure Time, then you really won’t be disappointed with this DLC. It was a blast to walk through iconic locations that I remember from the series and clean up messes while relaxing. Honestly, it felt like this DLC was made for me, allowing me to get the satisfaction of washing while admiring locations from a show that I adored growing up. I think fans of the series and those who enjoy PowerWash will find something to love here, even if it’s just extra levels to keep cleaning with friends.

PowerWash Simulator 2's Adventure Time DLC can be wishlisted ahead of its release tomorrow.
