The first content update for Brotato, called New Dawn, is live now on Steam and Mobile, with the Console release coming in one month. New Dawn is the first major update for the game that brings quality-of-life changes, like an all-new ban system. You will be able to acquire new items and a new weapon as well.

Evil Empire released a video overview today that showcases a lot of the new Brotato updates in action, as well as explaining how to get them. The update brings six new items, including Fresh Meat, Fruit Basket, Candy Bag, Ghost Outfit, Will-o'-Wisp, and Hourglass. These items grant perks to skillsets and strength to take down enemies.

The Vorpal Sword is the new weapon added to Brotato that allows you to perform sweep attacks. Use this weapon to one-shot an enemy in combat. The Ban system is also introduced in the New Dawn update, allowing you to ban up to eight items during a run. Get access to the Ban system by winning a run in Danger 3. However, weapons are not included in the Ban system.

Three new save slots are also added in the game with the arrival of the content update. This grants the players the ability to copy progress onto another profile. Deactivate the earning of achievements by unlocking every item, character, weapon, and Danger level.

A new wiki-esque feature has been added to the game in the form of the Codex. This gives info about Items, Weapons, and Enemies. You can now learn how many times you killed a specific enemy. Player feedback will highly influence the development of this feature in Brotato. The VFX changes allow you to adjust the colors for the game.

Brotato is currently discounted on Steam and can be bought for $2.99 until November 3rd, after which it will revert to its $4.99 retail price.
