ProtonDB has been an essential resource for Steam Deck owners who want to see how their games may run on the device. The website was created to rate how well games are compatible with Proton, the compatibility layer that allows us to play Windows games on Linux. With a dedicated section for the Deck, the community can write reports on how well it is running. It's fantastic and a source we reference in every review we write, but with the site, you can rate any product on the Steam store currently, including the Steam Deck itself.

It makes sense, seeing as the Steam Deck does have a dedicated slot on the Steam store, from which ProtonDB gets information, but I still found it a bit funny. Per the page, it is Native, though it doesn't have Deck Verified status yet, and the reports there are showing some strong signs of it being great. Each one is giving the green thumbs up, with the newest report from KieueCaprie going even more in-depth with some of its flaws and what makes it so great.

As of writing, there are only 12 reports for the page, so I am curious to see if this will end up growing. The first report is from 2 years ago, and then it took a break until one report 8 months ago, and then 6 new reports about 4-5 days ago. There are currently 9 Steam Deck reports and 3 PC ones. The 3 PC ones are really interesting, too, with one of them giving a thumbs down because they couldn't install the Steam Deck due to a "No Licenses" error.

I know I will be adding my report later today, and you can do so as well just by logging in with the account you bought your Steam Deck from!
