Last month, some incredible games were released on Steam, and they have been perfect for playing on the Steam Deck. So it makes sense that the Most Played Steam Deck Games of May 2024 list, which Valve just posted on X/Twitter, includes some of these games! Hades 2, unsurprisingly, tops the list, while we see ANIMAL WELL and Ghost of Tsushima both making their debut as well:

Compared to last month's list, we have 4 games that were changed:

New Games Added:

  • Hades 2
  • Diablo 4
  • ANIMAL WELL
  • Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT

Games That Left:

  • Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition
  • The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor

Seeing ANIMAL WELL there makes me extremely happy. I am not surprised by Ghost of Tsushima or Hades 2, but I am very happy with ANIMAL WELL being an indie title developed by one person, just like Balatro and Stardew Valley. Diablo 4 making a return is interesting, too, and I am surprised to see Fallout 4 so high up when the "next-gen" update made it impossible to configure the game on Deck, but it's still nice to see regardless!
