I used to love tower defense games when I was younger, and I still do get a kick out of Bloons every now and then, but Towerful Defense piques my interest. It combines tower defense and roguelike mechanics, putting you in the shoes of a single tower fighting hordes of aliens. It looks like a lot of fun with a variety of upgrades and skills to choose from, and its first expansion was just released with tons of new gameplay elements and a nice Steam Deck fix.

On the Steam Deck side, we have a fix for controller button prompts. Before the update, the game was incorrectly showing the prompts it needed to, which could cause some confusion. But with this update, this issue has now been resolved.
The expansion otherwise adds a ton of new content, though. We have two new game modes, two new towers, three new cards, a new enemy, and some overhauls to the UI, new effects, and enemy health bars have been added to the game. There have also been some rebalancing for bosses and elite enemies, optimization for rendering small enemies, and improvements to the auto skill screen.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

Towerful Defense is on sale for $6.99 until March 12th.
