One of the things I love most about the Steam Deck is the gamepad. The controls feel fantastic to use, with the joysticks, track pads, back buttons, and everything else I could ask for in a controller, easily accessible. The trackpads stand out the most, though, with this being the best way to navigate desktop mode and play point-and-click games. I have desperately wanted this style as an individual controller I could use on my desktop, and a new update from Steam seems to further confirm the next Steam Controller and its overall layout even further.

Noticed by @SadlyItsBradley on Twitter/X, a new update to the Steam backend has added a new icon for the controller. Codenamed Ibex, there have been leaks as to what the controller could look like, including a 3D model of it. Still, the SVG that was discovered from yesterday’s discovery does confirm the button layout of the controller, which will most likely be used as an icon to show which games have Steam Controller support.
It looks very much like the 3D model render, though, only missing the more specific buttons, like the Start and Select, the D-Pad, and the joysticks. It's pretty nice to see updates like this, though, and hopefully, it's prepping for a release of the Steam Controller 2 soon. This is exactly the type of controller I want to be using when I play games, so Valve could not release this soon enough!
