The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered may have its controversies, but it's still pretty awesome to have the game on PC. Being able to play through this entire series has been a blast, and to do it from the comfort of our computers and handheld PCs has been a dream come true. The game runs quite well on the Steam Deck too, and with the newest update, it should be a bit more stable in certain circumstances.

AMD's FidelityFX was updated to version 1.1.3, which fixed jittering that could happen on the Steam Deck when FSR Frame Generation was enabled. This should theoretically mean that playing the game with Frame Generation should be smoother, but I still find it hard to recommend using it. Frame Generation is a technology that artificially increases the framerate of a game, and while it can work if you hit a stable 60 FPS, I find it far and few games actually reach that. If you can't, you could experience stuttering and excessive input lag, and while this update fixes "excessive jittering", the game still can't hit the framerate to make it comfy to play.
The update also addresses a bunch of other bugs and fixes. Completing a No Return Challenge will now correctly reward the player with the associated weapon skin, shadow pop-in issues on the side of buildings and flickering blood stains in the Capitol Hill area have been fixed, the game won't crash when loading into a cutscene with a wide Field of View setting turned on, and there have been various stability improvements.
You can check out the full changelog for the update via their Steam Community Post.

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered is available for $49.99 on Steam.
