Ever since the remake was released earlier this year, System Shock has easily been one of my favorite cyberpunk-style immersive simulators to play on the Steam Deck. And for those curious if anything was happening with the sequel, we got a new trailer to show us more about System Shock 2: Enhanced Edition:

From the critically acclaimed developers who are known for restoring classic games to modern standards, Nightdive Studios is taking its aim over to System Shock 2. The game has been fully rebuilt using their proprietary KEX engine, which means improved visuals, enhanced gameplay, and significantly better performance than ever before. We can also expect leagues of bug fixes and upgrades to all the features in the game. This is a fully-featured remaster, which means it will include the co-op multiplayer mode, content made by the fans, and will have full mod support!

With new content and updates across the entire game, you won't want to miss this new look at an incredible sequel.

While there is no release date yet, I am quite optimistic about it running well on the Steam Deck, especially with how well the remake ran when it was released! I can't wait to dive into the sequel with its awesome updates! It will be available on both Steam and GOG when it is released. If you preordered the remake, you will also get this version of the game for free!
