You might not think about playing a Real-Time Strategy game on a handheld such as the Steam Deck, but those funky little squares on your device, commonly known as trackpads, are actually a real lifesaver when it comes to playing such titles on the go.

Whether it's Age of Empires, Anno, or Command & Conquer, the Real-Time Strategy genre spans a huge variety of games, all ready and waiting for your tactical mind to give them a go. Valve thinks the genre deserves some more love, and so do we!

With that in mind, the first Steam sale of 2025 will be the Steam Real-Time Strategy Fest, taking place between January 20th and 27th, and like most Steam sales, it all begins and ends at 10 AM Pacific on those dates.

We're not 100% sure about the voice-over, but we're happy to see RTS games get some love, as the genre certainly seems to have slowed down a little from its heyday in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
