It's safe to say I am a huge fan of Koei Tecmo and the games they release. From their headlining series like Dynasty Warriors and Atelier to lesser-known titles like Nights of Azure 2 and Arslan, I have enjoyed every game they released, and I especially love it when they dive into known IPs. Fairy Tail is one of them, and while it wasn't without flaws, it has a lot of charm and love for the original series. Now, with the sequel, Fairy Tail 2, coming out, I have been especially curious about how it will be on the Steam Deck, and it looks like I am not the only one!

While at Tokyo Game Show, Mikhail Madnani over at RPG Site had a chance to interview the producer for Fairy Tail 2, Hiroshi Kataoka, and he asked directly about Steam Deck compatibility. When asked if there are any plans to optimize it for the Steam Deck, Mr. Kataoka responded that optimization is "being considered." While this doesn't offer much insight into how well the game could run on Deck, it is something that the team is aware of and looking into, which is a positive in my book.

The interview does reveal a lot of interesting tidbits for the next title in the series as well. This includes what the team learned from the first game, how accessible it will be for newcomers to the IP, the possibility of a fully original story in the future, combat changes from the original, and comments on an English Dub. I definitely recommend reading it over at RPG Site, as it contains a lot of great information that is well worth your time. Here's hoping it will be awesome to play on the Steam Deck!

Fairy Tail 2 can be wishlisted on Steam ahead of its December 11th release.
