Valve has just shipped out a new Steam Deck Client Beta update that is specifically there to address the Offline Mode. This includes rebooting issues and cloud sync error notifications, as well as disabling the offline mode button when not connected to the internet:
- Fixed issue where rebooting while in Steam Offline Mode would cause games to fail to launch
- Fixed the Cloud Sync error notification popping up when offline
- Disabled Steam Offline Mode button when not connected to the internet, as trying to do this currently gets Steam Deck into a bad state.
- This change disables this button but does not in any way affect your ability to play games without an active Internet connection.
You can view and discuss the update with others over on Steam. I personally have not seen one reason to go into Steam Offline Mode as just disconnecting from WiFi doesn't break any access or games I have been playing, but love seeing those fixes!
