A new update for the Steam Deck Beta Client was released a couple of days ago, and it fixes up some issues across the client's different features. Steam Input got some increased sensitivity for Joystick Mouse mode, while the D-pad and right joystick can now activate Mode Shifts. There were also error messages added when trying to load a H265 clip, a crashed was fixed for broadcasting, the cursor is now the correct size for remote play, and Discovery Queue presentation has been fixed so elements around videos show properly.

You can download the update yourself in the System Settings on the Steam Deck. Make sure your update channel is set to Beta or Preview.

Steam Deck Beta Client 10/8/24 Update Changelog:

Broadcasting

  • Fixed a crash while broadcasting introduced in the last beta

Game Recording

  • Added error messages when trying to load a H265 clip or background recording w/ GPU acceleration or HW video decoding disabled

Steam Input

  • D-Pad directions and Right Joystick can now be used to activate Mode Shifts
  • Increased maximum sensitivity of Joystick Mouse mode.

Remote Play

  • Fixed the cursor being too small when streaming from a PC with desktop scaling enabled

Discovery Queue

  • Fixed the Discovery Queue presentation so that the elements around the videos show correctly.
